Overview
Maroo is committed to supporting strong, self-determined Aboriginal communities. In Menindee and Broken Hill, on the traditional lands of the Barkindji People, we proudly contributed $5,000 to the Menindee Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) to assist with local community initiatives and strengthen on-Country outcomes.
Community Context
The Menindee community continues to face significant challenges—including limited local services, economic constraints, and environmental pressures that affect cultural practices and day-to-day life. Despite these challenges, the Barkindji community remains resilient, deeply connected to Country, and committed to creating a stronger future for their people.
Our Contribution
Maroo’s $5,000 community contribution was designed to provide practical support where it matters most. Working directly with the Menindee LALC, we ensured the funds supported priority initiatives like the Menindee Fishing fund and Funeral fund that strengthen community wellbeing and cultural continuity.
Our Facilities Management Impact in the Region
Alongside this contribution, Maroo continues to deliver Facilities Management services across the wider region. By coordinating and combining site visits for multiple client partners, we have:
• Reduced transport requirements
• Lowered operational costs for clients
• Minimised carbon footprint impacts in remote travel zones
• Improved service consistency for all partners
This coordinated approach reflects our commitment to smarter, more sustainable service delivery—especially important in remote areas like Menindee, Broken Hill and its surrounds.
Legacy and Lasting Impact
Our work in Menindee and Broken Hill extends beyond a single contribution. It forms part of Maroo’s long-term commitment to leaving a positive legacy in the communities we work with. Through respectful partnership with the Menindee LALC, ongoing FM services, and targeted community contributions, we aim to create:
• Stronger local capacity
• Improved access to services
• Meaningful, lasting community benefits
• Ongoing support that aligns with cultural values and aspirations
Stronger Together
Our partnership with the Menindee community reflects what drives Maroo: creating lasting pathways, supporting cultural connection, and working side-by-side with communities to achieve sustainable outcomes.
